A terrific post on sustainable transport futures for Australia. One component that was dismissed was the potential for carbon offsets. There is increasing evidence that dynamic incentives can influence driver behaviours and therefore provide the potential to mitigate carbon emissions when targeted. This affords the opportunity to trade carbon credits and re-invest in sustainable transport futures such as electric vehicle subsidies – now that’s a circular economy.
